Road Safety Guidelines

We prioritize the safety of our customers and aim to provide a smooth and secure driving experience during your visit to Antigua and Barbuda. To ensure your safety and that of others on the road, we strongly recommend following the road safety guidelines outlined below:

  1. Adhere to Speed Limits:
In City Areas: The speed limit is 10-15 mph (miles per hour). Please exercise caution and drive at a safe speed, especially in congested areas.

– In Rural Areas: The speed limit is 30 mph. Drive attentively, considering the presence of pedestrians, cyclists, and animals. – On Highways: The speed limit is 40 mph. Maintain a consistent speed and stay aware of other vehicles on the road.

  1. Park in Well-Lit Areas:
When parking your rental car, choose well-lit areas, particularly during nighttime. This helps deter theft and ensures your safety when returning to your vehicle.

  1. Seat Belt Usage:
It is mandatory by law for all occupants of a vehicle to wear seat belts. Ensure that you and your passengers are buckled up at all times while the vehicle is in motion.

  1. Cellphone Usage:
The law strictly prohibits the use of cellphones while driving and imposes a substantial fine. Nevertheless, you are permitted to use your cellphone if you utilize hands-free technology. To enhance your convenience, all our vehicles are equipped with a cellphone holder and Bluetooth device.

  1. Child Safety:
If you are traveling with children under 7 years old, it is essential to use the correct child seat or booster seat appropriate for their age, height, and weight. This ensures their safety and compliance with local regulations.
