TERMS OF HIRE
By renting the vehicle (referred to as the rental), you hereby agree to abide by the terms and conditions stated below, encompassing both printed, written, and digital formats, as well as those specified on the front of the rental agreement, which you have signed. Additionally, you are obligated to settle all fees and charges outlined in the signed agreement. This obligation remains even if you did not explicitly authorize the charges in advance. This agreement establishes a mutual understanding between you (referred to as the renter), the individual authorized to drive as per this agreement, and Raine’s Car Rental. The terms “Renter,” “Customer,” “You,” and “Your” are inclusive of any designated authorized driver. All parties, including the renter and authorized drivers, share joint responsibility for the obligations detailed within the rental agreement. 1. Rental Requirements- a. Driver must be at least 25-year-old and is a holder of a license for minimum of 2 years. An Antiguan Driving Permit is mandatory and can be obtained from us for $20.00 USD, valid for 3 months.
- Rates are quoted in USD.
- Payment options include all major credit cards, PayPal or cash upon delivery.
- A valid credit card is required if a deposit is necessary Reservation and Deposit
- A valid credit card is required for reservation purposes. A hold amount will be placed on the credit card.
- If a deposit is required, a credit card must be used to secure the deposit amount.
- Card reservation holds are typically processed through an authorization transaction.
- These funds are temporarily held by the issuing bank and are not accessible for spending.
- After the vehicle is returned in the same condition, the hold is released by the issuing bank.
- The release timeframe varies and can range from a few business days to a couple of weeks, depending on the bank’s policy.
- INSURANCE AND LIABILITY
- Insurance coverage is extended to all vehicles, encompassing passenger liability and Third-Party Personal Injury including death is coverage up to a limit of USD $755,000.
- Additionally, insurance coverage for Third Party Property damages is included, offering protection up to USD $188,000.
- Limited Enhanced Protection (I.E.P) is offered and if accepted reduces the liability for damages to $2000.00 USD provided the vehicle was operated within the terms and conditions outlined in the rental agreement. Initially, an authorized hold will be placed on your card for the amount of $250.00 USD
- Notably Limited Enhanced Protection (I.E.P) does not provide coverage for damage to tires/rims or cigarette burns to upholstery.
- Declining the Limited Enhanced Protection (I.E.P) renders the renter fully responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of the vehicle resulting from accidents, fires, or theft, regardless of fault.
- Raine’s Car Rental is not liable for personal belongings left behind in our vehicles.
- Rental rates vary based on vehicle category and rental duration. Raine’s Car Rental reserves the right to change rates without prior notice.
- Limited Enhanced Protection (I.E.P) reduces liability for damage. I.E.P rates range from USD$10.00 to $15.00 per day, depending on the vehicle category.
- Additional charges apply for vehicles kept past the contracted time.
- The vehicle is exclusively permitted to be operated by an “Authorized driver.” An “Authorized driver” refers to yourself and any additional individual who signs the rental agreement during the vehicle handover process. All drivers, regardless of being4 the primary renter or not, must adhere to our age prerequisites, possess a valid driver’s license, and satisfy any other stipulations detailed in this agreement.
- Our vehicles maintain a strict non-smoking policy. A cleaning fee of USD$50.00 will be charged in the event of smoking inside the vehicle.
- Renter is not responsible for cleaning the vehicle upon return. However, if the vehicle is returned in a notably dirty condition, including excessive dirt, sand, or mud, a cleaning fee of USD$50.00 will be applied.

VEHICLE USE POLICY
PROHIBITED USE POLICY
Our car rental service maintains a stringent prohibited use policy to uphold safety, operational integrity, and ethical usage of our vehicles. The following actions are strictly prohibited:
- Fraud or Misrepresentation: Any attempt at fraudulent or misleading conduct to secure or utilize our rental vehicles is strictly forbidden. This encompasses the provision of inaccurate information, presentation of falsified identification, or any form of deceitful documentation.
- Reckless Misconduct: Engaging in the operation of the rental vehicle in a careless or perilous manner that jeopardizes personal safety, that of passengers, fellow road users, or the condition of the vehicle itself is categorically prohibited. This encompasses a range of behaviors, including but not confined to: neglecting to wear seatbelts, omitting child safety seats when mandated, or employing cellphones while simultaneously operating the vehicle.
- Unauthorized Drivers: It is prohibited to allow any individual not duly listed as an authorized driver on the rental agreement to operate the vehicle.
- Illegal Activities: Employing our vehicles for any unlawful endeavors, encompassing but not limited to criminal activities, illicit substance transport, or participation in illicit commerce, is unequivocally prohibited.
- Excessive Load: Overloading the vehicle beyond its designated capacity, potentially leading to damage or compromise of safety, is expressly disallowed.
- Racing or Competition: Engaging in races, competitions, or any form of speed-oriented challenges using our rental vehicles is strictly forbidden.
- Subleasing or Hiring: Renting out or subleasing our vehicles to third parties is not permissible under any circumstances.
- Off-Road Use: Venturing off-road with the rental vehicle, unless explicitly authorized and intended for such terrain, is unequivocally prohibited.
- Vandalism or Damage: Inflicting deliberate damage to the vehicle, indulging in vandalism, or any actions resulting in undue wear and tear are stringently prohibited.
- Impaired Driving: Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substances impairing driving capability is strictly proscribed.
- Prohibited Areas: The vehicle’s usage in restricted areas, such as construction sites, zones with limited access, or other explicitly off-limits regions, is disallowed.
- Towing: Towing other vehicles, trailers, or any cargo without prior authorization is prohibited.
- FUEL POLICY
- Our vehicles are provided with a full tank of gas upon delivery.
- Please ensure vehicles are returned with a full tank. Unless prepaid fuel option was selected at the time of booking or drop off.
- If the vehicle is returned with insufficient fuel, refueling charges and refill costs will be incurred.
- For details about refueling fees, kindly consult your booking agent.
- PREPAID FUEL POLICY
- Customers have the choice to prepay for a full tank of gas at the time of booking or drop off.
- Return the vehicle with any amount of fuel left; no need to refill before return.
- Enjoy peace of mind, knowing you won’t be charged for fuel upon return.
- Prepaid gas rates are competitive and may save you time and money.
- RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY
- Failing to promptly report an accident to the police.
- Not completing an accident report.
- The renter bears accountability for all traffic violations accrued throughout the rental duration.
- Cancellation and Refund (Prepaid Bookings)
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours prior to pick-up incur no fee.
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of pick-up results in a 25% cancellation fee.
- No-shows or cancellations on the pick-up date are subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
- Vehicle Repossession
- In case of non-compliance with the rental agreement, such as misuse, prohibited activities, or non-payment, Raine’s Car Rental reserves the right to repossess the vehicle without notice.
- Airport and Drop-off Services
- Airport pickup and drop-off service available.
- Free delivery within Saint John’s and surrounding areas.
- Modifications and Termination
- Changes to reservations may result in rate adjustments.
- Raine’s Car Rental reserves the right to terminate rental if terms are violated.
- General:
- Raine’s Car Rental is not responsible for unforeseen events.
- Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of Antigua and Barbuda and will be resolved through arbitration within this jurisdiction.
